WCAR should be on the better signal.

Time for another state of the union. As you guys already know, WCXI is back up to it's full daytime power. Hoping to get the format launched next week. We are in our second phase of the stunt. I still need to get a couple things out and done before we launch officially, so bear with me. We're almost there!

WCAR's power issue has been solved. Turns out we forgot to disable the dummy load on the phaser. Oops. Tomorrow I'm going out to see if we can get it to kick into daytime pattern so our downtown Detroit and Canadian friends can finally hear it OTA and we can get rid of that STA. Programming wise, I'm going to continue to work on the daytime rotations and add some specialty shows to both stations. I'm getting the imaging done for all of those.

It's been a nutty couple of weeks, but we're in the home stretch!

I also love how the 1160 stunting has evolved to song selections referencing Stair’s activity between news clips.

I heard 1090 a little bit today. Top 40 hits mixed with some songs that I wasn’t familiar with. Maybe they were lower rung hits, but they probably haven’t been played on any commercial station in years. I’m hoping it stays with this formula instead of the cookie cutter formula, or the CKWW 100% shuffle, even if the song just played ten minutes prior.

Whether either of these can at least break even will be the test. I know Aaron will do his best.

WCAR 1090 is now receivable in Shelby Township. Not sounding to bad reception wise. Is the station on daytime power because they seem clear for only being 250 watts considering I'm in Shelby Township.

Reception report. Currently sitting in my car on lunch break, I can hear WCAR for the first time in a long time, It's there but lots of scratchiness and really the signal is not very strong. (WCXI is a lot better). Not sure if NESnerd is currently working on it, but I thought I'd chime in.

WCAR is still on night time pattern, daytime power at the moment. There's a couple contactor/load issues, then we can get it into day pattern. All of this equipment sat unmaintained for several years, so some fine-tuning and readjustment is needed. We're shooting for the end of this week (and maybe next week) to have all these issues resolved.

WCXI is pretty much good to go.
