You're being hyperbolic. I don't obsess over CD quality audio over the radio, and I don't encounter "fade in and fade out with weird distortion", but I have good equipment. If this AM station has an entertaining service, I will listen.

You can get a ~$29 radio that will autofill the carrier fades and give 6-8 kHz audio response for AM.

Jeremiah 1:5 ~ "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you;

It's sure as hell better than listening to Fox 2 in the background while working from home.

As I'm not within listening range at the moment - are those the "All Hit Music...WCAR" jingles from circa 1971-72?

WCAR should be on 1160 with Oldies and WCXI on 1090 with Classic Hits. Just a suggestion.

Still working out some kinks with the transmitter and phasers (something's up with the VSWR apparently). Our chief engineer is back in town for the next two weeks and will work on it with me. A stream for 1090 is coming soon and I'm also going to work on those rotations too because there is a ton of harder rock left over from WPON in there that needs to either go entirely or get night-parted. More oldies are coming, I promise! Oh, and yes, the jingles are from the Giant 1130 days.

1160 is also in the works as well. Hoping to get that back to 15k at the start of next week and get that new format up.
Just wondering if there were any updates. 1090 is still non existent for me here is Windsor. AM 1160 is still airing the news clips. The signal is faint but I can at least hear it.

WCAR 1090 has been dead air in Shelby Township. WCXI 1160 has been on and off today. They must be working on the transmitter today. Once that 15kw signal kicks in the entire Detroit area should have no problem receiving 1160 during the daytime hours.

Yeah, I noticed 1160 was not there on my drive home from work. Hopefully cool 1160 with launch soon. I wished the webstream was airing the classic hits format. I'm tired of checking and hearing the Stair news clips.

According to NESNerd 1160 could be up and running next week.

Happened to tune in around 7:30PM and 1160 was back on, and clear as a bell here in Windsor. I think she's firing on all cylinders.... Cool 1160 tomorrow?

Not 100% clear due to nighttime skywave interference but WCXI is definitely a LOT stronger and easier to recieve tonight than it was last night in Rochester Hills.

I'm listening to WCXI this morning. The reception is pretty good.

They're interspersing "The Demise of Reverend Stair" segments with musical selections. I Love Little Girls by Oingo Boingo, Don't Stand So Close to Me by The Police, I'm A Creep by Radiohead, Runnin' with The Devil by Van Halen, We Gotta Get Outta This Place by The Animals.

It's time to stop the nonsense and get on with the new format.

I've also been checking in on WCAR 1090 today. It's coming in quite well (and I'm in Troy). They've got the oldies going, with an impressive selection. And, of course, the WCAR jingles. Sounding good!
