Not a total shocker - you have a great point. I'm sure the DTE folks pushed hard on avoiding negative headlines this weekend. But when nearly a quarter of households in Metro Detroit are out of power and Joey Chestnut is taking up more space on the headlines I think something is out of wack!

Yeah noticed that as well on Tuesday AM before the Tigers game. Sounded much better last night! Go Tigers!

Clearly 89X will be a major contender in the next ratings. If this board is any proof of the popularity of better mixed alternative rock in Metro Detroit I think its safe to say they're onto something big.

Great news for WRCJ. Awesome to see this competition and reassuring to know listeners can only take so much Foreigner and Aerosmith through the day! Hope to see WDET as well ahead of WLLZ by the end of the Winter!

Also enjoyed Alt 98.7 over the weekend. They had some 90's themed ID's and played pretty straightforward grunge hits but there were some crate diggers heard from Screaming Trees and Social Distortion. Love 89.5 as well when I'm traveling in the Mid / Western portion of Metro Detroit. I think I've heard early Ministry and Yaz and lots of 80's goth wave cranking out. I think its Auburn Hills WAHS? Amazing the signal comes in just south of St. Clair Shores!

Anybody else completely let down by most of the radio on the air today in Metro Detroit? There's certainly no hope left for classic rock and we thankfully have enough good R&B classics in Detroit that keep things steady. DCFC soccer is averaging close to 8k at their home games in Hamtramck - easily breaking attendance at Comerica on a weeknight. Team is the fastest growing sports organization in the country right now and going professional this year. Should be fun to see quality sports on TV again in Detroit.
