Because many of them ran away from that or were born here and are fully assimilated into our way of doing things. I know Tawas is kind of back woods and what not but the entirety of human knowledge is available on the internet and contains the answer to what might be different. Use it.bmw wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 9:42 pm There are 50 countries around the world that have Majority-Muslim populations (47 of which are controlled by Muslims)

Was the personal insult really necessary? You couldn't have just ended your response after your first sentence?Rate This wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 9:46 pm Because many of them ran away from that or were born here and are fully assimilated into our way of doing things. Anyways, while Muslims generally do integrate into American society better than they do many other places (Europe, in particular), the fact remains that worldwide, there is 34-point freedom gap on a 1 to 100 scale between Muslim-majority countries (average score 33) and everyone else (average score 67). It is literally a 2-to-1 difference. You're basically telling me that the US is somehow magically immune to this if more and more Muslims rise to power here. Forgive me for being skeptical.

Re: Muslims and freedom
This is bad, even for you. You should delete this Islamophobic bullshit.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
NEVER EVER COMPLY WITH FASCISM!!!
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Re: Muslims and freedom
I'm just pointing to the data. Do you dispute any of it? Almost without exception, countries with large Muslim populations are not free countries. That's just the way it is.
Oh, and spare me the "Islamophobic" bullshit. A phobia is an irrational fear. My fear is not irrational, nor is it personal or based on hatred. It is based on a genuine concern that everywhere Muslims rise to power in any significant number, almost without exception, the people living under their reign are not free. This isn't some kind of "boogeyman hypothetical." It is reality.
Also, as far as "phobics" go, the majority of posters here can't stand Evangelical Christians. Aren't you also in that list? Are you Christianphobic?

Your fear is 100% irrational.
I encourage you to spend a week or two in Dearborn and document how freedom is alive and well.
Unless that scares you.

Obviously not. Personally, I think Tawas and Oscoda are an epicenter of White trash in our state.bmw wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 10:04 pmWas the personal insult really necessary? I'm sure I could dig up some data to support this, but who cares?
283,000,000 Americans didn't vote for Trump.

Re: Muslims and freedom
How many of those 50 countries previously had a 250-year old representative republic with the vast majority of its citizens either Christian or non-religious affiliated?

Re: Muslims and freedom
My Muslim former co workers were by far the easiest to deal with and the most thoughtful people. One was even a supervisor. The only thing they ask is to have lunches and breaks around their prayer times, and that’s it. Have had FAR more issues with Christian nationalists and Agnus Dei Catholics.

Re: Muslims and freedom
That may be all they want in their personal lives, but that's not what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about their preferences for governing. Data is kind of sparse here, but a 2016 ISPU poll found that 37% of American Muslims say that "Sharia/your religion [should] be a source of legislation." https://www.cato.org/blog/muslims-rapid ... cal-values. I've also read a much more recent poll that aligns with this, putting the number at 39 percent.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 12:13 am My Muslim former co workers were by far the easiest to deal with and the most thoughtful people. And my concern is that of the Muslim population here in the US, those most likely to have a desire to seek power are far more likely to be those who want to institute Sharia law or at least some form of it. And as far as El Sayed - again, a wolf in sheep's clothing, in my opinion.
At a bare minimum, on the whole they are much further to the left than the average American.
So would you, under any circumstance, ever vote for a, as you call them, "Christian nationalist" or "Agnus Dei Catholics"? And if not, how is that any different from the form of phobia you're accusing me of?MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 12:13 am Have had FAR more issues with Christian nationalists and Agnus Dei Catholics.

Re: Muslims and freedom
JFHC.
Today I learned that in order to use the suffix "phobia", a person must have an irrational fear in the strictest sense of the word. I guess hydrophobic molecules are literally irrationally afraid of water, and the oleophobic coating on my phone is literally irrationally afraid of fingerprints.
Isn't religious freedom what conservatives screech about, or is it only allowed for their own faith? Where you said 2016 ISPU poll found that 37% of American Muslims say that "Sharia/your religion [should] be a source of legislation", what did it say about the statement "xx% of American Christians say that Christianity should be a source of legislation"?

Re: Muslims and freedom
This isn't about freedom, it's about Christian Nationalism. He wants us to be more like Iran not less. Just instead of men of color ordering people around in the name of Allah, it's fat white men shouting about the rath of God.
"All religious wars come down to one thing: Who has the best imaginary friend" -Richard Jeni RIP
And this isn't exactly about freedom, because the current idea of freedom in the US is indentured servitude by an Oligarchy posing as Religious white men with lots of money (which is a contradiction). BMW himself tells us he works all the time.
