Big Jim

Unread post by Skyler286 »

Just read on fb Big Jim is no longer at WCSX:

After an incredible run at WCSX, my time with the station has come to an end. I’m grateful to the listeners, teammates, clients, veterans, and Detroit community who allowed me to be part of their mornings for so many years. Detroit has been my home for 24 years, and I’m proud of everything we built together. More to come soon. - Jim

Loved his show. Hope he stays in Detroit!

Could there be a format change on the way? This town is too small for two Classic Rock stations. New York City only has one.

Why? 106.7 is doing much worse.

Doesn't matter. It could still happen.

If Wheelz was smart which theyre not......they let Screamin Scott get away when he was available......they would look into Big Jims non comp.

The morn show they have presently sucks imo Big Jim would be an upgrade and a known personality. Start building the station iheart wtf??

With the Doc retired they are back to 98.7 Wheelz 1980 circa no name jocks.

Big Jim attracts an older audience. I don't think that's what 106.7 wants.

Beasley is selling a lot of stations lately. Could WCSX be next?

Then MW they can get used to staying in the 1.8 to 2.0 range .

They need to go a bit old school radio thats how Doubleday built 98.7 Wheelz first the Doc aft drive then the Morn Crew morn drive

Big Jim would bring over alot of CSX listeners. Casey just needs to do a few tweaks of that playlist. not a major overhaul. Sorry Im just old school.

Jim's a good guy and genuinely funny. He helped me learn the ropes for morning drive and I filled in for him when he was on vacation. I wish him all the best.

It's not impossible.

The personnel move in AM Drive is more likely a function of the new market manager flexing his muscle.
