I don't disagree with Ryan on this topic. Especially for members of the news media, having to publicly announce one's party of preference while standing in line can be awkward.

Don’t they ask literally everybody in line the same question? If so I’m 100% against giving him a pass on it. When you’re there we are all equal. Wouldn’t a cop in uniform or your kids teacher be just as awkward? How about the neighbor you think is weird and don’t like?
