Verlander on 15-day injured list...already. Left hip inflammation.
He must've pulled something squatting down to catch Brandon Inge's ceremonial first pitch yesterday.
Keider Montero called up.

Tiger bats showed up today, 11-6 in a rain-shortened game called officially in the books with one out in the ninth. Vierling, Carpenter, and McKinstry each had three RBI including HRs. Torres banged another. Everyone scored a run!
It got dicey when repatriated Drew "Gas Can" Anderson came in with the bases jammed, only to yield a grand salami to cut a big lead to 7-6.
Flaherty showed good stuff, but lacked command. He only lasted four innings and left the bases loaded with no outs in the fifth for Anderson.

Montero took a step forward last year. Not a lights out guy but with good control and defense he's a decent fifth starter.
It's definitely time to give Montero a chance in the regular rotation. Even if he's just a .500 pitcher, he's better than Flaherty and probably better than Verlander.
I lucked out. Wife and I are uber Tigers fans and were going to breakdown and do the yearly $109 annual subscription to Peacock. Clicked on the QR code to subscribe and was offered $5.99 monthly subscription price for 6 months. Needless to say, I subscribed

Lost in Minneapolis 7-3. The Tigers had all three runs in the 4th inning. Four hits all game. A 30 degree night in Minnesota is great for baseball...
The Tigers should feel thankful for the UM basketball win, which probably took a lot of attention away from this miserable game.

I just checked the box score - 12,500+ in paid attendance. Watching the game, it looked like there was about half that many in the stands. I’m guessing that they 1) wished they were still playing under a dome or 2) wished they would’ve canceled the game and played a doubleheader as it’s going to warm up as the week goes on

My sports predictions haven't been very good lately, but I'm still gonna make 'em.
Here's my Tigers prediction:
They'll fail to make the postseason and will win 78 to 83 games this season.
I could see this happening. What’s your prediction on Skubal?
Do they deal him? If so, what’s their return? I can’t imagine the Dodgers/Yanks/whoever unloading their absolute best prospects for him if he gets dealt at the deadline. Maybe someone in their top 3-5 prospects, but I don’t see any team dealing with #1 or #2 prospects at this point.
They made an effort, but it’s hard to be down six runs and come back to win. Valdez was extremely hittable early on.
Jahmai Jones is 0-10. As a bench guy without a solid track record, he could be sent to Toledo if he doesn’t pull out of this. Of note: Max Clark is destroying the ball down there. Obviously, he wouldn’t be coming up to sit on the bench.
