Everyone is entitled to gather. Denying a Pride event or a No Kings or whatever goes against the Constitution. And really few have a problem with Pride events. Yeah our local media stations will find 4 people to rant and rave about it. But it's honestly not a big deal to virtually everyone.

The difference is this:

The same folks that say Pride Festivals are a right will turn around and go up and down the sidewalk dressed like Rainbow Brite picketing an NRA convention or a Trump Rally or any other event they don't care for. HOW DARE PEOPLE I DISAGREE WITH ASSEMBLE !!! That's when the crowds fill the streets in protest. Not at a Pride event.

Let’s face facts… our addiction to individualism and self-involvement has bred a culture where the only thing that matters is an individual person’s cause and everybody else be damned or worse.

BREAKING🚨🏳️‍🌈 A trans teacher spent three years fighting his workplace discrimination case at a federal agency. This week an investigator emailed him the reason it was dead: "We are not permitted to conduct/continue any investigation regarding transgender cases, and that is coming from the chain of command."

His name is Flint Del Sol. He taught for more than a decade in a Southern California school district. He built an LGBTQ+ student library. He advised an LGBTQ+ student club. And then the threats started.

Threatening letters were mailed to his school and dropped in his mailbox. People called in threats of violence. One day there was a bomb threat to his classroom. He found out when he walked in and saw a police officer waiting to scan the room for an explosive device. They didn't cancel class. They didn't send him home. They moved him to another room and told him to keep teaching.

A district employee went through his classroom library and pulled the LGBTQ+ books. He left the district and filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in November 2023, refiling in May 2024. The agency accepted it. They told him the investigation was starting.

Then the rules changed. In January 2025, Trump signed an executive order ordering the federal government to recognize only two sexes. The EEOC moved fast — dropping its own pending lawsuits for trans workers, scrapping guidance that said misgendering could be unlawful harassment, and routing trans complaints to headquarters.

So when an investigator called Del Sol with the news, he asked her to confirm it in writing. She did. The email said his right-to-sue letter would arrive within weeks, and he'd have exactly 90 days to use it — meaning the government just handed him the bill for enforcing his own rights.

Here's the part they can't dodge: the Supreme Court already ruled in Bostock that firing someone for being transgender is illegal under federal law. The agency tasked with enforcing that law looked at a man who taught through a bomb threat and told him he wasn't worth protecting.

"I was being told outright that I wasn't worth protecting," Del Sol said.

I don’t always agree with Tom Powell, but he knocked this commentary out of the park after a Kansas trans woman was charged for passing as a woman too well: https://youtu.be/ZCvr6xZ3p1M?is=qoEL5Uhjp6_er3gF

This month marks 60 years since the Compton(not located in Compton, just the name) cafeteria riots that occurred in San Francisco.

The Compton's Cafeteria riot occurred in August 1966 in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco.[1] The riot was a response to the violent and constant police harassment of trans people, particularly trans women, and drag queens.[2] The incident was one of the first LGBTQ-related riots in United States history, preceding the more famous 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City by three years.[3][note 1] It marked the beginning of transgender activism in San Francisco.

Ever find any positives, or are you only looking for negatives?

I consider this a net positive. This is where trans rights activism began. It is when we started to fight back.

Interesting enough, SF has the first transgender district in the world. We passed by it a few years ago on one of those Hop-On, Hop-Off buses and they had signage all over the place.

Wyoming trans woman pushed to the ground after slurs are hurled at her. She then pulls a weapon against her attacker yet does not fire in self defense. Now, she faces charges for brandishing the gun.

Just wondering if you are celebrating the two newest (Royce White and Enes Kanter) Trans members to your community?
