Last Friday, I heard what had to have been at least a 9 minute long commercial break in the 10 AM hour.
The station played a couple songs and then took yet another commercial break.
Across those two commercial breaks, one commercial (for the 3 on 3 professional basketball league that CBS airs) ran on five (!!!) different occasions.
Later that same hour, B93 played Florida Georgia Line.
I was listening to Kiss FM in Toledo yesterday during the first 2 PM break and the break had to have been at least 9 minutes as well, including the 3 on 3 league.
I've noticed iHeart, no matter if it's a Toledo, Detroit, GR, or any market station, seems to have the same ads on all stations. iHeart Music Festival promotions, podcast promotions, and national brands. There are far fewer local business ads on iHeart stations. By contrast, Cumulus, Audacy, and Beasley stations seem to have a wider range of local advertisers. Don't these companies realize no one likes 9 minute ads in 2026? I should also mention, who remembers the first or second ads by the time the break is up?

I wonder if they pull a townsquare and synchronize stations like they do now, such as 93.7 having the same playlist as 107.9 WMUS
WIOT Toledo, WQMF Louisville and other iHM rock stations clone one another's playlists now in multiple dayparts. I am unsure if the same voice tracks from the same air talent airs on both stations, but the music is an exact match.
The music log cloning strategy is also used across various of their CHR stations, AC stations, Country stations, Classic Hits stations, etc.
ALL iHeart stations are undeserving of continued ratings success, after what's happened the past few days. Stations in markets as large as St. Louis have been gutted and flipped to the straight national feeds (what they used to call Premium Choice, but it's not a choice anymore). If B93 isn't using a national log yet, it will be soon. Their sister stations already do. At least Clownsquare retains somewhat of a local presence on the air despite their own national logs (last I checked WFMK, for example, still had local hosts in AM and PM drive, although their midday host is national).
From what I've heard of their national logs, the voice tracks are indeed identical between the stations that use them (at least the small to medium market stations). The only difference in the jock patter will be a "magic call" or "magic ID" coming out of a song, just as if you were listening to a station using one of Westwood One's or Local Radio Networks' formats. It sounds so seamless you'd have to listen close to realize it wasn't someone there in the studio.
I say this same thing when I switch over to Star 105.7 during the Christmas season. I tune in to hear Christmas music and spend nearly 10 of my 15 minute drive home from work listening to commercials.
MW, I love that guaranteed inhumane slogan. I've stated before on the neighboring states forum that WSPD has numerous technical difficulties during syndicated shows due to the LACK OF HUMANS that are in the Toledo market. I should also mention that after one of those magic ID's a few years ago on 101.5 the River in Toledo, the voicetracked jock they had was promoting a concert that had ALREADY HAPPENED, I expect more quality control issues due to the cuts, just like their Toledo market stations since 2020 after slowly gutting everything. The guaranteed human slogan is hypocritical on their part. Sadly, iHeart's stations will continue to have ratings success, as most listeners don't care as long as they have the music they like.

My wife absolutely hates the guy that replaced Matt Gildcheck. I listened and tend to agree, he stammers and stutters a lot.
I'm not sure if anyone is airchecking that guy but he's got a ton of crutches/ticks that are annoying.
"Yeah Yeah Yeah, like...like...like..., No Yeah." It's comical and almost a drinking game to anyone with ears.
B93 is a VERY VERY long way from the heydays of Neal, Reese and Conrad.
I see former Grand Rapids sports jock Ryan Schuiling has been laid off at KHOW in Denver. And five or six people at iHeart stations in Grand Rapids including some big names.

It's honestly not that bad. It's not like they're actually looking for air talent at this point. They're just finding people in the building to fill roles. B93 hasn't had a job listing since Neal and Reese left. For being a board-op for Mojo, I think this guy is alright.
Have you heard the mess over on WLAV? They've got Michelle McCormick paired up with some intern. Absolutely no way this guy has a gig like this if they actually looked for talent after Tony Gates left. It's such a bad show and he drags it down so much I can't listen. I'm not a FBHW fan so I'm off to Spotify at this point.
