Re: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit
Is it just me, or is the rollout of the Detroit SportsNet going horribly?
-They have no website of their own (only a single page on the MLB.com website).
-They have zero social media.
- There are hundreds of confused Tigers fans posting questions on the team's Facebook page that have received zero response from team officials.
- Cable subscribers in some cases are not seeing the channel. Do cable companies realize FanDuel Sports Detroit and Detroit SportsNet will both be broadcasting for a period of several weeks before FDSD leaves the air? BOTH networks need to be offered, because one will carry Wings broadcasts whereas the other will carry Tigers broadcasts.
I don't know if MLB is dropping the ball or Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. I suspect it's a combination of both.
Let's face it - MLB might have ulterior motives. They likely prefer would-be viewers to access the content through the MLB's own website or streaming apps as opposed via a cable provider. MLB can resell subscriber data that way, probably gets more money per subscription, and can then try to cross-sell other packages.

Ionia also has Spectrum Cable and shows channel 213 being Detroit Sports Net. Today's game is on DSN and while the channel info shows the game the channel is still the same blue screen. I have received nothing from Charter, so I don't know if there are other hoops I need to jump through to see the game.

Can confirm DSN has popped up on Wyandotte Connex as of tonight as well. It's on channel 34, bumping FS1 to 33 (which was where ESPN Classic was until they closed down and the channel space was outright deleted). No word yet as to what happens to channels 35 or 136 when FDSN shuts down next month.
My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Re: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit
After not being able to see the Tigers spring game Saturday on Spectrum Cable channel 213 I spoke with a Spectrum rep this morning who said I would be getting the Tigers but not until Opening Day March 26. She sounded knowledgeable so I am confidant I'll be able to watch the Tigers. There was no mention of an extra charge so I am hopeful swapping Fan Duel for Detroit Sports Net will be a wash.

"If you watched Tigers or Red Wings games through your cable package last year, there's a good chance no action will be needed to watch moving forward," Fidelman wrote in his post on X (formerly Twitter). "We'll share a full list of cable/satellite providers carrying DSN, along with channel assignments, soon after the agreements are finalized. Full disclosure: this could come as late as the morning of Opening Day."

I only use Hulu TV and YouTube TV, so it doesn't matter. I have to pay the $19.99 and don't need to search for the channel. Xfinity should offer a streaming only option, like DirecTV, but they still require you to pay $10 for a box a month, last time I checked last year.
Re: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit
We're still speculating on where the Pistons games will be telecast/streamed, right?
Perhaps it'll be via the Scripps Sports division of E.W. Scripps? They just announced today that they'll be the new home for the NHL's Nashville Predators: https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/art ... ghts-deal/
I saw someone's post on this or Reddit that mentioned Scripps perhaps being an option for the Pistons.
Only time will tell, I say.

I believe today might be FDSN's last day on the air. Today is the last regular season game for the Pistons. The final two regular season Wings telecasts will air on ESPN and TNT, respectively.

Someone will likely be watching this evening after the game to see if any further programming follows.
My guide on DirecTV shows the Red Wings - Lightning game tomorrow night on FanDuel Sports Detroit.

It is possible ESPN doesn't have exclusive rights to broadcast the Wings vs. Lightning.

Re: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit
It doesn't look like Wings/Lightning is on espn unless there was some late change that isn't reflected on the schedules at espn.com and nhl.com. Both of those only show Kings/Kraken at 9:30pm EDT on espn. It is one of the espn+ games.

Google simply said "ESPN".
It probably is ESPN+.

Re: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit
FYI, tonight's Wings game will be on Fanduel. TNT is showing Stars/Sabres, possibly because those two are playoff teams and the Wings and their opponent the Panthers are not. Fanduel was still on the air this morning showing "Michigan Golf Live"
Re: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit
Yeah, kinda curious when and how the end will happen.
