Retired news anchor Jerry Taff who was on WJRT TV 12 (1975 - 1977) & WEYI 25 News at 5:30 (30 minutes) in 1978 has died at 85 years old. https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/lon ... 13368.html

I'd watch Taff and WJRT-12 News from my MSU dorm room. Reception was fuzzy, but it was the "class" of the three local commercial stations available to me. I recall seeing Taff drive away in a sharp looking 'Vette from the station's parking garage.

When the reruns of the TV show "Batman" was over (WEYI 25 did not show the 20th Century FOX logo at the end), Jerry Taff came on & did the News at 5:30 in 1978. Also I remember this 15 second commercial "Don't miss Batman & Robin (minus Adam West & Burt Ward) & the Star Wars exhibit at the World Of Wheels Custom Auto Show this weekend at the Saginaw Civic Center" (February or March of 1978) BUT I did not go until 1980 when I met Twiki the robot (from "Buck Rodgers In The 25th Century") & he said "Betti, betti, betti" to me when I shook his hand!!

I don't remember Taff at 25.
I do remember Keith Edwards at 12 then 25, eventually retiring in Fort Wayne.
I go way back to the Luke Choate days watching him on 12.

The days when 12 used to do selected Flint Generals road games from places such as Des Moines, Columbus and Fort Wayne.
