As I’ve posted elsewhere, in the grand scheme of things, so what? TV5 will probably settle before the jury trial to make this little hemorrhoid gnat go away. His career in broadcast journalism is over. His smug on air personality isn’t missed by me as it was the main reason that I stopped watching TV5 news years ago after Sam Merrill died. If he was any good, one of the Detroit stations would have snatched him up years ago or 12 or 25/66 would have hired him immediately after he got fired from TV5. His dream of being Sheriff “Hollywood” Chris Swanson’s PR dude in Lansing will end after the primaries next year. Goodbye and good riddance

Lololol tell me you don't know about non-competes if you think 12 or 25 could have taken him. His contract essentially expired, meaning the non-compete period after the contract is still in place. And quite an assumption he would even want to go to Detroit. This business is falling apart and he's not going to move to the Detroit area when they have a successful salon in Flint.

Tell me that you don’t follow the news without saying it. The Biden administration got rid of non compete clauses last year and the courts are no longer upholding them. And there’s enough people who commute from Genesee County to the Detroit area daily

Non competes are absolutely still in effect. The issue was appealed and its being held up in the courts. Stations are still enforcing them.
