Moody Radio 89.3 to cancel its local morning show

Unread post by MWmetalhead »

All programming on all Moody stations will now be national 24/7. 🤮

Sadly, I'm sure the local affiliates had no say in the matter. It's the same pattern taken by mainstream and religious radio networks (note K-Love).
Can 89.3 carve out any local airtime for the pair? Other day-parts or weekends? It would be difficult....

Although I am a H*** fan of WMB eyes programming throughout the day, I cannot say the same about their morning show. Great group of people yes. Morning, show talent, no. And to go national with it.🤷‍♂️ I think you lose a lot of listenership. I think morning shows need to be local will they have local affiliates break-in for weather, traffic and sports?
What about the local affiliates and their listeners favorite program on Moody whether it be Chris or Janet Parshall?
Are these gonna change timeslots? So the listeners who might listen to a program during their lunch break or whatever might not get to hear it? Or on their drive home from work? Many times I’ll be listening to 90.1 around the lake as I come home, and then we’ll hear the same programming on 89.3 two hours later.
I get the idea of being good stewards of the money that you were given, but I think there is alternatives to this.

I guess this means the end of the last locally originating Christian programming (aside from the Gospel outlets and whatever local programming is on the Catholic/brokered AM's) on Cleveland radio.
Interestingly, 95.5's ratings have essentially stayed the same since K-Love replaced The Fish. Apparently listeners don't know it's not local, or more likely don't care.
