I realize both of those things. I'm just saying... it's capitalism. This idea that people in positions of power shouldn't do x, y and z to help their preferred person along is rather anti-capitalist. The golden rule of capitalism is getting wealth however you can. If that means being the mayor's best friend and getting a sweetheart deal.. well.... the guy complaining missed the boat. Too bad.

Crony capitalism isn't a pejorative to capitalists, it's a pejorative to government officials, whether those be elected or non-elected bureaucrats, who funnel the taxpayers money to recipients who have not fairly competed for those funds.

There really should be laws and severe penalties addressing that kind of stuff.
