GUYS! GUYS! GUESS WHAT I HEARD!
Real instruments on 95.5! Sounded like a country song almost, but there were really instruments! Guitars and drums and everything!!!
Less shockingly, I heard More Than a Feeling on WOMC. Such a great deep cut

Meanwhile, over on WNIC they're playing this lost, forgotten gem called "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by someone named Mariah Carey...

No. It was something about "God I never a favor" or something. I was too shocked to pay attention.Chrocket87 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 6:11 pmWas it the Luke Combs cover of “Fast car”?Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:45 pmReal instruments on 95.5! Jelly Roll! Great artist. WRIF also plays him, as does WYCD.
In fact, Riff was playing that song a good 45 days ago. WRIF also played an earlier single from him. Octane on Sirius XM also plays material from Jelly Roll.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

I heard that at Walmart last night, needed Ceral, eye drops, and salsa . Anyway, yeah that god I need a favor was what I heard.

What have I been saying? This, my friends, is what's at stake when these Kristian broadcasters come in and gobble up commercial frequencies.Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:45 pmLess shockingly, I heard More Than a Feeling on WOMC. Such a great deep cut

Re: GUYS! GUYS! GUESS WHAT I HEARD!
I normally don't listen to pop music, but was on some Sirius/XM channel on a long drive and listened-in for a bit. I noticed that every ballad is a breathy mumble over a single piano. Even the male singers are doing it except for one guy with a set of incredible pipes, but still over a piano. Just a piano.
So yeah, real instruments. Not sure everyone needs to do the same thing, but hopefully some day they'll discover acoustic guitars or something.

Currently #14 on the Hot 100....been higher than that...far less Country sounding than some of the songs that have been hitting the Mainstream charts. Probably have local or regional research...

As of today, #12 on the All Access CHR chart, up from #17.

Apparently I am in the minority in this thread, Jelly Roll doesn’t appeal to me.

You're not alone. I saw a documentary on the guy and his music didn't resonate with me, his story didn't resonate with me but found it interesting enough to watch to the end.
My wife calls his music "inspirational self-aware Kid Rock" and his listeners "sophisticated red necks and recovering addicts". She enjoys some of his work, despite being neither.
