Sad. A relatively young man.
Bacteria are winning the war; we increasingly have to turn to antibiotics that carry a lot of their own risks; apparently fluoroquinolone was used and got him.

Re: Bobby Caldwell dies
I had no idea there were so many covers and samples of his "What You Won't Do For Love" by others following his one hit.
If there was a genre of "Yacht R&B", I suppose that song would fit.

I actually thought he was Black the first time I heard his original version of "What You Won't Do for Love." (My first encounter with the song was with the Go West remake that was a minor hit in 1993.) His biggest hit on the Hot 100 was as a songwriter, with Peter Cetera and Amy Grant's "The Next Time I Fall" hitting #1 on the pop and AC charts in late 1986.
Westwood One's Adult Standards format used to have his version of Bobby Darin's "Beyond the Sea" in rotation. Quite a credible cover.

Also British duo Go West (of "We Close Our Eyes" in 1985 & "King Of Wishful Thinking" in 1990) did "What You Won't Do For Love" in 1992. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO27n-R ... West-Topic
