There's still plenty of snow across Indiana moving this way, but it is light powdery snow with small flake size (since the air mass moving in is so cold).

The back edge of the precip is near the IL / IN border.

The back edge on my radar is over Jackson right now.

Edit:
Interestingly enough I can see stuff all the way to Illinois on classic mode. It vanishes on Hi-Def mode. It must be some awfully fine powdery stuff. My inclination is that it may not be reaching the ground in any significant way.

You need to look at the North Webster, IN radar and Chicago radar. Effective radar range is less when precip type is light powdery snow. I use RadarScope pro.

South Bend, IN is reporting a snow shower as of 11:30 ET. Ditto Coldwater, MI. Gary, IN is now dry with an air temp of -1 degree!

I don't want to lose power. In the lakeshore where the highest wind gust happens 60MPH inland and a little over 50MPH wind gust in my opinion. NWS for Kazoo has 47MPH wind gusts for Fri afternoon Fri night 44MPH wind gust Sat afternoon 37MPH wind gust Sat night 33MPH wind gusts, will be updated tomorrow to see if they change the wind gusts in the text.

That sounds about right for Kalamazoo, although I think that Saturday afternoon number is probably overstated a touch.

It’s a nationwide map… it uses all of the radar stations in the country. I use MyRadar… pretty much the most accurate and sensitive radar display I’ve ever used. It’s gotta be an issue with the sensitivity on one mode vs. the other.

Still an occasional raindrop but otherwise quiet and not precipitating here in Wayne.

Edit… 1150pm we have snow.

Switched to snow at almost the same time here.

First flakes occurred within the past five minutes. 14 Mile Rd. and Woodward area.

Is it 1 to 3, 3 to 6, 5 to 10? Nobody knows

It's brutal here in Brighton, the winds and temperature anyway. I can still see concrete and the tips of the lawns.

Job sites should be relatively free of people today, so that's good. As we travel site to site for work, my employer hasn't made mention of any changes yet. I'm sure they'll be tracking the system from the safety and comfort of their living rooms.

This storm has me feeling like my wife on our wedding night. I told her she'd get 10 inches and she ended up getting 3 at the most.

Now, that's a good analogy. 😄

The north coast of Ohio is getting hit hard in spots. Pretty good snow bands over Sandusky and especially greater Cleveland right now.

Hartland, Highland and White Lake are seeing a blob of heavy snow right now. Terrain features might be contributing to the enhancement there. It seems to be expanding, and Holly will probably be under heavy snow soon.

Some added moisture is about to move into NE Monroe County off Lake Erie and is pushing northward. We shall see soon if that enhances snowfall in central Wayne County.

I'll probably be giving myself a grade of "F" for my Thursday morning snowfall predictions.

Remarkably, AccuWeather was still forecasting 6 to 10 inch totals for Metro Detroit when I listened to WWJ around Midnight. A ridiculous forecast given what was known at that point.

Work just got canceled. We've traveled in worse conditions than this prior.

NB - Oh, I made sure your wife got plenty of inches.

Same here in Ann Arbor. My yard is more white than green but I can see grass poking out. Maybe a 1/2" so far.

Very cold and windy but one can dress for the conditions outside and be comfortable.
