I remember that Mort Crim was criticized on the way he reported stories on tragedies, hence the nickname he was known by as...

I learned a lot last night. I was impressed! I knew maybe half of the history on the station that was talked about.

Then there's the story (probably made up) of some visitor from France seeing a billboard in Detroit with Mort Crim's name on it. They wondered who Crim was and why his death was being publicized on a billboard.lidoshuffle wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 8:11 amI remember that Mort Crim was criticized on the way he reported stories on tragedies, hence the nickname he was known by as...

I'm guessing NBC's Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving special will be moved to Cozy, along with the Macy's parade.

Re: Going 4 it: The inside story of the rise of WDIV
Towards the end of Carmen Harlan's run, I found her very dislikable. One of the worst laughs in the history of broadcast television, and she would use it to cut off other people. She came off as very nervous and insecure.
By contrast, Kimberly Gill has come off as a very likeable, sincere, friendly, everyday person.

At that time, there were WDIV billboards promoting news with Mort Crim and weatherman Mal Sillars. Limbo set, high-key lighting, serious expressions. Each showed only their first names, "MORT" and "MAL." It was supposedly indeed true that French-speakers wondered why there were sign boards for men who were "DEAD" and "BAD."

On a different tangent, I wonder how the French felt about "The Morton Downey Jr. Show", especially the audience repeatedly chanting "Mort! Mort! Mort!". No doubt some francophones were terrified that the audience was calling for the guests' deaths, when they thought they were chanting "Die! Die! Die!"SolarMax wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 6:42 pmAt that time, there were WDIV billboards promoting news with Mort Crim and weatherman Mal Sillars. Limbo set, high-key lighting, serious expressions. Both parts of the special replayed this afternoon. The reunion is airing now, in fact. I'm enjoying it.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
