Erica Mokay Leaving WWMT
Anchor Erica Mokay is leaving WWMT. Here is her fb post announcing her departure:
And another one...
But this time it's me.
This is my last week at News Channel 3 WWMT TV.
I've been putting off making this announcement for a while, mostly because I don't know what to say and I'm not completely sure how I feel.
5 years ago, I never, ever thought I'd consider a placed called Kalamazoo home.
1 year ago, I thought it'd be my forever home.
And on Thursday, I will say goodbye.
I guess that's the thing about life, you never know where it will lead you...
But, as I always have, I will continue to put my faith in the universe and trust there's a plan for me that I wasn't planning for.
I'm sad but I'm also incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to live and work in West Michigan.
You, the viewers, rely on the news for a variety of reasons.
What you may not know is, I have relied on you for a variety of reasons too...
Like the news, not everything or every day is good.
But even on those not-so-good days, knowing I had the privilege of telling YOUR stories brought me strength and joy.
So often, this job has given me purpose.
It's been my armor; it's been my constant. None of that would have been possible without you.
So, thank you.
Thank you for waking up early with me.
Thank you for staying up late with me.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for your kindness.
Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your day---but know that you will always be a big part of my life.
Now, it’s time to go back home to Pittsburgh.

Wow! They've lost a ton of on-air talent in the past few months! Can the last one at the WWMT turn out the lights?
Re: Erica Mokay Leaving WWMT
All the best Erica in the next chapter back home to The Steel City.

Note: WMMT-TV news co-anchor Kate Tillotson was there for 12 years, Obviously the exception.
Re: Erica Mokay Leaving WWMT
Why is she leaving?
Woe to you, oh earth and sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

Based on social media hints, it looks like Christina Anthony is leaving too.

Re: Erica Mokay Leaving WWMT
WWMT has become a farm club for other stations. Anyone with even an ounce of ability ends up somewhere else. Would be nice to see what they could do with a budget the size of their GR competitors.
Re: Erica Mokay Leaving WWMT
Where is Christina headed to I know she is from PA area and went back home when she left WWMT the first time.
