WILX morning anchor Ida Tedesco has announced on her Twitter this evening that she is not returning to the station to spend more time being a mom.

WILX has been advertising a morning anchor position for a couple weeks. Wasn’t sure if Mallory was moving to a bigger station or Ida was leaving. Now we know.

According to her Facebook post she is taking a break from TV to be a full-time Mom. She has been driving an hour from the Detroit area where husband Jason Colthorp works for Channel 4.

That's a commute. Glad she'll spend time with her kids more often.

Maybe it was just bad timing, but I'm surprised they didn't just move Julie Williams from the Fox 47 morning show to the WILX morning show. Would've been able to fill the open position immediately and not have to hire someone brand new to the station.
