Back to back from Dan and Dave. These people are allowed to vote and drive on the roads. God help us all.

Re: Ron Cameron
He has more meetings than the CEO of Apple

Re: Ron Cameron
Do you think Ron even knows of Apple, let alone its CEO?

Re: Ron Cameron
Haha Ron has no clue about Apple. He thinks Polaroid cameras are cutting edge.
Prediction for the show today:
1. Keeps on hoping that Jon Warden is ok
2. The restaurant he looked at yesterday in a hotel wasn't up to snuff. The hotel owner really wants Ron there
3. Dan from Fenton will call, talk about covid isn't real and its because people's diets aren't right. Ron will beg him to call back

Re: Ron Cameron
May 13, 1981 and August 14, 1981, according to the Detroit Free Press archives on Newspapers.com.
The 8/14 column has a familiar sound. Here's how it starts:
It's been a city of losers, but better times seem near
With Jim Hawkins on vacation, the Free Press has asked several area sports figures to write guest columns. Ron Cameron, 36, has hosted WXYZ-AM's "Sportstalk" show for three years. The show can be heard from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Detroit sports teams have not given the fans much to cheer about in recent years. And that's putting it mildly.
Consider this: The Red Wings have made the playoffs once in the last 11 years. The Pistons have never finished first and have had only three winning seasons in the 24 years they've been here. The Lions have finished over .500 only once (last year) in the last nine seasons. Only the Tigers have been somewhat competitive, winning more than they have lost the last three years, though their last division title was in 1972 and their last pennant in 1968.
Is there any glimmer of hope for Detroit sports teams and their loyal fans? Let's take a look.
Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks, Bobbert! I’ll have to get a 7-day trial run on newspapers.com to read both columns, but what you quoted seems pretty basic. No surprise.
Not sure I’m buying Ron’s excuse for Warden’s absence. He’s used the excuse on the past of mixing up the digits before. We’ll see if Warden makes it next Friday. At least Ron’s not blaming the hotel maid for this no-show.

At least he got the Sunrise Coney Island interview. Absolutely riveting.

Kurt is making me fall asleep. He's going on about the list of the worst fielders of all time for each position

I never thought I’d miss Cowboy so much.

Re: Ron Cameron
I couldn't do the second hour yesterday, Kurt's horrible call pretty much forced me to shut it off.
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron will always be Ron, but I think this new Martin guy really does try and help Ron with his audience. I've been listening since WDFN. Who's Ron's best sidekick been over the years?
