They are churning staff like crazy and the quality has dropped off greatly. I think a couple of years ago they were right with WOOD TV with their news product.
Today I'm watching a traffic guy anchor the midday newscast and literally stumbling over his words multiple times a story.

I think we're seeing the effects of how Scripps runs things compared to Tribune.tannersboat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:39 amThey are churning staff like crazy and the quality has dropped off greatly. I think a couple of years ago they were right with WOOD TV with their news product.

100% this. Scripps took all the good and fun out of the building. Just look at their track record, they do it to every station they acquire. Scripps is nothing but meetings, strategic planning sessions and more meetings. ND Blayton took a job at a CW station just to get away from Scripps. Outside of the Spelling Bee, the company has nothing good to show for its name.Bull Shannon wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 12:15 pmI think we're seeing the effects of how Scripps runs things compared to Tribune.tannersboat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:39 amThey are churning staff like crazy and the quality has dropped off greatly. I wonder if Scripps News will take over some timeslots like The National Desk on Sinclair TV stations?

It's been a pleasure watching the morning news the past few days since Elliot Grandia is on vacation and we don't have to listen to him stumble over reading the script, giggling like a schoolgirl, and laughing during serious story delivery...

Well, when you're delivering a story about a murder or other tragedy, you shouldn't break out in laughter like a schoolgirl...
