New Asymmetrical Sideband Rules.
FCC decision on HD Radio
Re: FCC decision on HD Radio
None of my new vehicles has HD, who is actually using this feature anymore?

Re: FCC decision on HD Radio
It certainly seems possible that the decision makers have a bad intent in mind. Look at what all the translators on second adjacent channels are doing to outlying area signals, even withinin their protected contours, due to 1000 foot HAAT translators on TV towers, compared to the 300-500 foot towers of adjacent market stations.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 6:03 am I predict this move will backfire and interference will become worse, not better.
Instead of using asymmetrical transmission to reduce adjacent channel interference, I predict it will be used to intentionally increase interference to rim shooters.

Re: FCC decision on HD Radio
On many radio stations either option poses a problem. If 97-1 The Ticket boosts left, they eat away at the coverage of WBTI on 96.9
If 97-1 The Ticket boosts right, part of WJZE's area on 97.3 from Ohio suffers from a loss of coverage.
I agree that adjacent channel interference will indeed get worse.
