Highlights: Nothing. Basically same boring results for the same boring stations in the same boring market as it has been for the last 10 years. Although I see that WLMI's buttrock-heavy playlist of classic hits topped WMMQ's buttrock-heavy playlist of Classic Rock.

Lansing Ratings
Re: Lansing Ratings
Townsquare ruins heritage stations, like WFMK. Just look at the Flint numbers for CARS 108.
Re: Lansing Ratings
I have always been curious. In the case of non-subscribing stations, are their figures tabulated but not reported, or are they treated as non-stations and all shares, percentages etc based only on the subscribing stations?

Re: Lansing Ratings
Besides being a smaller market than both Grand Rapids and Detroit the one thing that takes away from the fun ratings
talk is that the Mac Donald stations don't participate. I said that before regarding Lansing as well as Flint and The Tri
Cities markets. Someday I 'd like to see a new player in those markets that does participate in the Nielsen ratings.
In Lansing I know they own WILS-AM, WQHH-FM, Mike FM WHZZ, and WXLA. I'd like to find out how they do as compared
to the others in the market. I do have some things to say about what was reported in the last ratings.
1. WITL is still the country institution of The Lansing/ SCMI area and being number one or among the top three is expected.
2.WJIM-FM aka "Now FM" has a loyal top 40/CHR audience as does its sister station WITL with the modern country hits.
3. Q-106 FM is the only Midwest Communications station in the top three and they certainly have a loyal audience with
the active rock format. As an active rock station they appeal to people who seriously want to rock and I do believe that
they're a better active rock station than WGRD in G.R. but not quite as good as WRIF in Detroit.
4. WFMK dropped by two full percentage points down to a 5.7% with their A/C format. Although they dropped that much
WFMK has the A/C audience secure as do the three stations above them have secure audiences.
5. WLMI with classic hits has made the top five in a relatively short period of time. WLMI is the most impressive.
6. WMMQ with classic rock is still the classic rocker of Lansing but Town Square simulcasting the "Free Beer and Hot Wings"
morning show with WGRD in Grand Rapids proved to be a mistake. That show is better when it's local G.R. radio and
doesn't belong in Lansing. I'm sure WMMQ will regain listeners this fall when they broadcast The MSU Spartans football
games. With a new football season and coach WMMQ will get positive attention but it won't make up for what they did
during morning drive by dumping a popular morning show to rebroadcast WGRD with Free Beer and Hot Wings.

Re: Lansing Ratings
Those #'s had to be the lowest in the history of CARS 108. Maybe lower than when they were WGMZ playing "Beautiful Music" back in the 70's and early 80's. And Cumulus screwed WHNN when they went from oldies to AC. The proof is in the pudding.

Re: Lansing Ratings
Time to bring back Michael W Kay
Like him or not, Cars 108 had "class" under his ego fueled leadership.
