Re: Nielsen audio #'s for Grand Rapids
I'll start out by mentioning that WNWZ making the top ten is good for them and that raises the question of when will a
commercial FM station of at least 3,000 watts in G.R. go urban? When you think about it Muskegon, The Kalamazoo-BC
area, and Lansing all have U/C on FM commercial stations as opposed to the 104.9 FM repeater of WNWZ-AM 1410. I know
those FM stations are weaker FM's but still G.R. is number 2 in MI and number 68 in the USA. Therefore somebody should
try it. Meanwhile Town Square only had one other successful station and as always that's WGRD with active rock. The
others in the chain WFGR (aka "The Grand"), The River, and their 50,000 watt WLHT all were in the 2% range. Perhaps
Town Square should consider making changes with their stations except for WGRD.
Meanwhile the only Cumulus station to make the top ten was WLAV coming in at number five with a 4.5% share. I still
say that without any classic rock competition WLAV should do better than a 4.5% share. I still say that Cumulus should
change their other stations in the market starting with their "Thunder Country" nonsense on 107.3 FM.
Meanwhile I-Heart had half of the top ten stations with B-93 the most listened to station not only in The I-Heart cluster
but also above all commercial stations. I actually thought that B-93 might drop some due to no B-93 Birthday Bash
this past June. Apparently the lack of one had no effect on the station at all. I-Heart will continue dominating the
commercial radio market and B-93 especially will continue being successful with its loyal audience.

Who would advertise on Urban in West Michigan?
Listeners are not important if there is no advertising.

Greg, weaker FM’s? 102.5 is 250 watts (WKFR-HD2), and 95.5 is a 200-watt translator for 1660. And what is it with you and competition? This isn’t 1980 anymore.

Note to WGN... bring back Steve Cochran ASAP.
EDIT: Steve Cochran IS BACK AT WGN!!!

Re: Nielsen audio #'s for Grand Rapids
If townsquare was smart, they’d put WNWZ on 100.5, the WFMK clone on 100.5 is proving NOT to be successful, I suspect the grand will be a 1.9 as well next book.
Re: Nielsen audio #'s for Grand Rapids
The only thing Townsquare cares about are hits to their station web sites.
Re: Nielsen audio #'s for Grand Rapids
Am I missing something? I see the ratings. The sports station that Jumbo is on had a 1.2. I just saw on FB and X that he’s running his mouth about the best numbers in 22 years. Were his ratings that bad before or is he lying again to dupe the advertisers?
I really wish we had options for sports radio. Grateful for satellite
