Worst songs you've ever heard.

Post by Deleted User 16093 »

I'm not just talking a run of the mill song you don't like, in my case that's: 2 tickets to paradise, I want you to want me, Blinded by the light(The douche song), Pinball wizard, and I'm sure there are a couple others.

I'm talking about something just awful. So here we go-

The worst songs I ever heard, anything from this century. I’ll listen to 50’s, 60’s, 70’s 80’s and 90’s. I’m 69 years old and don’t care for any of music from 2000 to now. But then again, it’s not my generation.

Oh man, Wang Dang Sweet Poontang has one of the best air guitar riffs ever. And the lyrics sum up Ted's clownish cave man act to perfection.

No argument with the other two, though.

Can I nominate Squeeze Box by The Who?
I'm sorry but that, like many, is a song that if it wasn't from someone well known, it would of never went anywhere.
I feel the same way about a few of the McCartney and Wings tunes.

Mixed feelings on The Who but yeah not a fan of Squeeze box. Wings, I don't feel one way or the other.

I'm 64, and have gotten exposed to a lot of post-2000 music through restaurant radio stations. Music up to 2010 isn't too bad, but it went downhill after that. Most post-2010 songs feel like a mixture of disco and hip hop.

The late Falco "Rock Me Amadeus" (1986) & Starship "We Built This City" (1985). Hate those damn songs.

When Ted Nugent was on "Late Night With David Letterman" on NBC in the Summer of 1982 (promoting his 1982 first Atlantic album "Nugent"), he said "Wang Dang Sweet P-------" (NBC cut the word out). He also did "Stranglehold" with his guitar instrumentally sitting down at the end of the interview!!

"We Built This City" came out at about the same time the People Mover in downtown Detroit was being built. There were some problems, and Dick Purtan's show did a song parody titled "We Bilked This City (With a Train that Wouldn't Roll)".

Rock Me Amadeus was a good song IMO. I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton and later by Whitney Houston were both terrible IMO.

I dislike the following, doesn't matter which versions.

Lean on Me

Life is a Highway

No Sunshine

I may add more to this list later.
Woe to you, oh earth and sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

I like Whitney, but her version of I Will Always Love You misses the mark. It's all about her flexing her vocal muscle and not about finding an appropriate interpretation of the lyric. Dolly's 1982 version is the best one IMO.

On my list of legitimately horrible songs/recordings:
Michael Bolton's version of When a Man Loves a Woman
Newsong - The Christmas Shoes
Sam Hunt - Body Like a Back Road
Justin Timberlake - Sexyback
Taylor Swift - Shake It Off
The Chainsmokers - Closer
Anything by Kid Rock (with the exception of Picture and that's only because of Sheryl Crow)
Camila Cabello - Never Be the Same
Jimmy Buffett - Margaritaville
R. Kelly - Bump 'n Grind (not seeing anything wrong with it is how he got where he is now)

Linda Ronstadt's version of "I Will Always Love You" is magnificent. Not over-the-top like Whitney Houston's.

I've made my disdain for Foreigner known here before. But the one song of theirs I hate the most, more than any other, is Hot Blooded.

"We gotta get away from you know who". No, I don't know who. This was never made clear to me.

"You're looking so tight". Is her shirt 4 sizes too small? Is she turning red?

Worst. Shit. Ever.
