SXM Rate Increase
SXM Rate Increase
Got an e mail today saying the cost of my service would increase by $2.81/mo.
I called and asked to cancel my contract. She offered me a 12 month promotional offer that was lower than what I was already paying. I knew they would offer something. I took it.

Re: SXM Rate Increase
Sounds like the cable company. I had XM from 2003-2013. While moderately enjoyable, I couldn't justify the hassle and expenses near the end of my subscription. There is a free trial going on right now (not sure for how long). I miss The Bridge and that's about it. I have other methods of streaming similar stations when terrestrial radio sucks the life out of me lol.
Re: SXM Rate Increase
I threatened to cancel. They knew I was a subscriber since 2003. I asked them why I was paying more than what new subscribers were paying. I lowered my package but am now paying $5 a month
Re: SXM Rate Increase
I wouldn't subscribe if the actual cost was only $2.81/ month, much less the increase!!

Re: SXM Rate Increase
Yup, I've been paying $5 a month for a while now.
Here's how my last dealing went:
- Me: "Your prices are too high, I would like to cancel."
- Them: "We can give you the platinum plan for $15 a month for __ months."
- Me: "That's still too pricy, do you have something cheaper?"
- Them: "We can give you the Music & Entertainment plan for $5 a month for __ months."
- Me: "Great; sign me up!"
I cannot recall if my plan term is 6 months or 12 months. It's one of those two. I want to say it is 12 months.

DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.
Re: SXM Rate Increase
I would like ala carte choices. There are about 6 channels I would listen to and if I could get just them I would consider a subscription

Probably 12 months as that’s what mine is.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 6:27 amYup, I've been paying $5 a month for a while now.

Only thing I miss on the Platinum plan is baseball. Then again, considering that I’m not out of state much during the summer, I’m always in the area of a broadcast radio station I can listen to

I listen to Siriusly Sinatra, Escape, Water Colours, Symphony Hall and NPR Now.

As long as I get Faction Punk and Ozzy, I'm good.

We play two types of Music here... Country and Western!
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

After my battery died, my Sirius doesn't work. So I I have to listen to Wheelz or Alt 98.7.moldyoldie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 2:31 pmSame here, we play rock and roll.
I must say that I don't miss Madison's singing, though I miss Lithium(34), U2 Radio(32), 1st Wave(33), Alt Nation(36), Turbo(41), Sirius XM Chill, and several comedy channels.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.
