SNL Commercials

Unread post by sfpcc »

About two months ago I discovered that Xfinity On Demand has the first five seasons of SNL. I binged watched all 106 of them. This leads me to a couple of questions.

Does anyone have a favorite Commercial Parody from that period? I guess mine would be Super Bassomatic.

The next one might be a little strange. Has anyone ever seen an SNL Commercial Parody and thought it was real?
When I was eight or nine I saw one featuring The Haitian Voodoo Medical Kit. I thought it was real and couldn't stop laughing. At that age I had no sense of context.

I hate the original SNLs myself. The show didn't get good until about 89. I enjoyed the Colon Blow commercial as well as many others from that era.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

There was one and I don't remember what they named the product, but its purpose was to remove an extra thumb, for anyone afflicted with that deformity.

At the end of the ad the announcer said "And now also available Toe-riffic."

Another I remember was the Eternarest Casket Mattress.

They took the Van Halen song because of music rights. No crap.

I looked it up. Mr Bill did ads for Ramada Inn and Pizza Hut. Lowe and Home Depot commercials would have been funny but problematic.
