Biden's Done...
Re: Biden's Done...
I think that my brother Mike will say that Trump beats Biden in November of 2020.

Re: Biden's Done...
If the economy is doing well and Trump delivers on the USMCA (what the fuck is taking so long to present it to Congress?), then he wins reelection with numbers similar to what he received last time.
Under that same set of circumstances, would also not surprise me if the House stays with the Dems.
I like divided government, personally. When the same party controls all branches of government, corruption and special interest handouts abound.

DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.
Re: Biden's Done...
His approval rating the day he took office was 44.3. Today? 44.3.
If Trump wins and the House stays in the hands of Democrats, get ready for 4 years of dysfunction like Washington DC has never seen before. Trump will go back to signing executive orders to get things done.

Re: Biden's Done...
I continue to believe Biden will NOT be the Dem nominee.
He's an old has-been who's stumbled too many times on the campaign trail during prior Presidential candidacies. He's incapable of creating as much enthusiasm among young progressive voters than other candidates who are running.

Re: Biden's Done...
So who do you think it will be? There's basically 4 tiers of candidates right now:
Tier 1
-Biden
Tier 2
-Warren
-Bernie
Tier 3
-Buttigieg
-Harris
-O'Rourke
Tier 4
-Yang*
-Everybody else
I don't see there being enough support for Bernie or Warren to get it - they both cater to the extremist socialist wing of the party and they're currently splitting that vote. So unless either one drops out early, neither will get it.
As much as I hope Harris gets it because I think Trump would easily defeat her in the general, she hasn't broken through. I think realistically, the only challengers Biden has right now are Buttigieg and O'Rourke, and O'Rourke isn't polling particularly well in Texas right now. The only reason for the dems to go with him would be if they thought he could deliver the state of Texas, which I don't think he can.
So as it stands right now, I see 3 people who are viable candidates:
-Biden
-Buttigieg
-Yang*
I put Yang as a wild card here because he is just that - a wild card. He isn't polling well in traditional polls but he has a ton of followers online and on betting sites, he's actually ranked in the same tier as Buttigieg, Harris, and O'Rourke

Re: Biden's Done...
No Cory Booker?
I think either someone from the "everyone else" column, Sanders or Warren will be the nominee.
If I were to make a guess today, I'd say Warren (same pick I made a year ago). She is just far enough left to appeal to young progressives but is tenured enough to appeal to the establishment. Being a white female not named Hillary helps, too.

Re: Biden's Done...
Booker is polling in low single digits. A while back I thought he might have a chance but his name has been out there a while now and he has moved nowhere in the polls.
As to Warren - you can take to the bank that she won't be the nominee. IF (and that is a big IF) Biden's supporters abandon him and go for somebody else, it will be for O'Rourke or Buttigieg. Biden voters are not the extremists within the party so I don't see them switching to Warren or Bernie.
btw I'm not yet convinced that Biden is toast. If I were handicapping this today, I would put odds as follows:
50% Biden
25% Buttigieg
10% O'Rourke
5% Yang
10% Other

Re: Biden's Done...
Buttigieg's resume is much lighter than that of Obama or even (gasp)...Sarah Palin.
I simply cannot see the mayor of tiny South Bend, IN becoming a major party's Presidential nominee. Someone else will emerge and steal his momentum.

Honestly, Republicans have nothing to say about any of the democratic candidates. Who cares about your opinion after you have voted for and endorsed Trump?
For Kristian Trumpers are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

Re: Biden's Done...
Joe Biden is yesteryear. Too much cosmetic surgery. Too frail in his body, and muddled in his well-meaning mind.
He’s a good guy. And a great American. However, his many personal tragedies going way back - while rendering him highly empathetic - have left him deeply exhausted - both heart and soul.
Time for a younger patriot and freedom fighter to eviscerate the lawless, reckless and dangerous, vapid Trump presidency.
I’m looking for a candidate who has put self in harm’s way for this country, has leadership experience, an amassed knowledge of world history, American history, science, languages, math, money - especially budgets, has respect for others, is respected,
knows a friend from a foe, does not lie with alacrity, is not mentally ill, appreciates the arts, does not relish harming the weak - especially children, and is cheered when visiting London - not reviled and denounced by thousands of protesters in the streets. Someone of whom America can be proud and grateful.
And it would be a plus if said candidate knew what it felt like to be bullied, and had learned how conquer those tough-talking cowards.

Furthermore I had respect for Biden and if he won the presidency I wouldn't have lost any sleep.
Not so sure about it now. Your abortion position is one way to peer into your heart.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Biden's Done...
My question is, if Biden is the moderate Democrat he once portrayed himself to be, WHY IS he afraid to just stand on his political beliefs? I have to conclude that either (A) he is afraid of the backlash from the far left wing of his party, or (B) he never really had any firm beliefs to begin with. Either case would make him an ineffective leader.
