The bracket pool I'm playing in this year (as every year for about the past 10 years) is a $75 entry fee with about 4100 brackets in it. So against that many people, you kind of have to steer clear of the 1-seeds to win it all because even if you end up being right, you're up against hundreds (or over a thousand for UConn) of other brackets with the same champ so you have to be near-perfect elsewhere. My game theory says go with a sleeper and hope for the best.

That in mind, my Final 4 is Iowa State, Arizona, Houston, and Creighton, with Iowa State over Houston in the final. Of the 2-4 seeds, I like Iowa State's resume the most with 6 quality wins, including twice over Houston.

I was very tempted to take Florida at the 7-seed given their Vegas odds being better than most of the 5 and 6 seeds to win it all, but that was a bridge too far.

I think ISU is a great pick, especially in your situation. I've got them in a bracket pool too, but I'm kinda loaded on UConn, thinking my other picks will get me in the money. I need Kentucky bad here, and am rooting like crazy for Oakland.

I think he might get canned before the plane lands in Lexongton.

Happy Oakland won even know I picked Kentucky I think I had them in the sweet 16. Hoping for MSU beats UNC which will be a tough game for MSU.

I was a Kentucky fan.
Daughter and son in law live in Lexington and are UK grads. Don't know any Oakland grads.

Jack Gohlke was shooting out of his mind! :!: Has he been doing this all season? :?:

FWIW, I have a couple Oakland grads in the extended family.

He averaged 12.2 points scoring per game prior to last night's contest. He is now at 12.8 points per game.

Judging from commentary during the telecast, it sounds like he became a bigger 3 point scoring threat during the second half of the season.
He took 335 shots this year. 327 were three pointers.

NC State will study last night's game tape closely. He will have many more contested shots against them, I predict.
Spartans played 'em in December and beat them by 17. He went 1 for 10 from 3.

Speaking of the Spartans, they are only a 3.5 dog tomorrow vs. UNC. #1 vs. #9 and the game in Chatlotte, you would assume it would be higher. Vegas seems to think this one will be close. If Akins plays like he did yesterday and we get the team effort of the past few games, MSU could pull the upset.
