Unread post by matt1 »

Country singer Toby Keith has died at 62 years old. Nope I do not have any Toby on CD BUT I do have Sammy Hagar's version of "I Love This Bar". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toby_Keith

It's a stretch to describe myself as even a casual fan of country music, yet I enjoyed his style of county music. He was one of several artists from the 1990s & 2000s that I thought were great, who sadly, receive only sporadic airplay at best on contemporary country radio stations these days.

I was unaware of his stomach cancer diagnosis, publicly announced in June 2022 (the actual diagnosis occurred the prior autumn) until I read of his passing.
agree totally.
His song "Wish I Didn't Know Now" hit home with me big time back in 1997 when I found out my first wife was banging some guy from her work.

Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

He was dominant in country music in the 2000s decade. After some doldrums in the late 1990s (four straight singles missing the top 10, in part due to his then-label's issues), he went on a hot streak with 25 top 10 singles in the 2000s decade, including 16 number ones.

Jesus, dude. I'm sorry to hear that. I can't stand infidelity.

Proposition Joe talking to Stringer Bell:

" ... I'm doing like one of those marriage counselors. Charge by the hour to tell some fool he needs to bring flowers home. And charge another hour to tell the bitch she needs to suck cock every little once in awhile. You know, keep a marriage strong like that ... ".

Ol' Prop Joe sums up the root cause of most infidelities I know. All kidding aside.
