Just a quick question Dudley, how are you determining what a legal ID is?
Calls. city of license directly following?
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

I agree with HD.This has long been an ongoing challenge in this TV market. I would first argue that the question about WSMH's station ID comes down to what is the actual FCC legal definition of "city of license" versus a station's' claim of the area it serves and/or is viewed? Does the ID only mention Bay City? Or, also "Saginaw, Flint" and perhaps, on occasion, even Midland? That said,I believe this is a list of the currently active TV FCC licenses in the market: WJRT=Flint, WSMH=Flint, WEYI=Saginaw and, not only is WNEM licensed to Bay City, so is WEYI & WSMH's sister station WBSF! My 2 cents....how each station promotes themselves is a totally different story from them using branding phrases like "serving" communities within their coverage area but not in the respective city of license. So I doubt there's a true, legal falsehood with the WSMH ID in question.

Only calls and COL are required. No other cities are required, unless it's officially licensed as such (I think Minneapolis-St Paul is a rare example). WEYI could ID with only Saginaw and it would be fine.

WSMH is still running an illegal ID. It is listing Flint as the city of license! Ran at the end of 2 and a half men, 759 pm.

WDCQ identifies themselves as Bad Axe, followed by Bay City, Saginaw, Midland, and Flint. Bad Axe is technically the COL, even though they are programmed out of Delta College, which is west of Bay City. Bad Axe always comes first; the other 4 are rotated. Sometimes, Bay City comes first, sometimes Saginaw, sometimes Midland.
