Looks like the David and Meg show is trying to buy their way into relevancy… they once again are trying to enter their stories into annual awards.
Emmy Awards haven’t yet been announced, but the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (which you also have to pay to enter your nominations) have given Meg and David their pat on the back for:
Feature: Battle on the Homefront-The War on Veteran Suicide (Meg)
Investigative: Social Media Sugar Daddies (David)
News Special: Rising from the Floods-2 Years Later (David)
New Media: ALICE Training (David)

WJRT only had one nomination, for newscast. Cheap a** Sinclair doesn’t even bother to enter… despite their former In Over Her Head News Director Neille being on their Board of Directors. (Shows how desperate NATAS is — they’ll literally accept anyone!)
Just wait for the vanity News promos for David and Meg to begin airing… “Mid-Michigan’s most awarded news anchors” (insert vomit here)

Buying Awards
Re: Buying Awards
Shocking that 25 was last in the ratings with Sinklairs breaking news ability.
BREAKING: journalists submit their work for awards for the first time ever.
Would you prefer if David and Meg promoted their newsletter or did dishes?

Re: Buying Awards
If you don't enter, you can't win. Most professional awards require an entry fee. Nothing new here.
Re: Buying Awards
No one at Sinks station has ever paid for an award I’m sure.
Re: Buying Awards
You’re correct. The station used to pony up the money to recognize and incentivize good work. No longer, I guess. Take a minimum wage employee and force them to pay their own way is the new normal.
Re: Buying Awards
And you know for a fact that TV5 isn’t paying? You don’t know as much as you think you do.

Re: Buying Awards
You gripe that David and Meg are "buying" their way in, and in the same breath you say WJRT had only one nomination? Are you complaining that WJRT isn't "buying" its way in?
