I drove / escorted Ahmad around Grand Rapids when he performed in 89 or 90. As a musician rep for the company, tested every Steinway in St Cecelia's. Not tremendously personable but excellent performer.

I would define him as a bit terse to his musicians, our station team and the hosts at St Cecilia's. I don't believe he made himself available to any of the attendees as is customary.

My wife is a friend of his wife (now widow) and she confirmed to me that he does get short with people on the road.
