Does the "Reproductive Freedom" amendment give rights to men?
Re: Does the "Reproductive Freedom" amendment give rights to men?
Doesn't seem too extreme or confusing like the signs I've been seeing in people's yards.

Woe to you, oh earth and sea

Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

Well, when you don't actually READ it, or only look at it from a 50,000ft view, I guess you could come to that conclusion!!Taco wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 11:38 am Doesn't seem too extreme or confusing like the signs I've been seeing in people's yards.

No I'm not quite the hypocrite most pro-life people are. I prefer to care for and about people were already living. Most pro lifers become disinterested in life when somebody has been born. Unless of course you're a Catholic priest in a room with children.

I searched the entire Prop 3 verbiage for anything about parental consent being denied. It’s not there.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

You are correct. Proposal 3 does not discuss parental consent at all. Therein lies the can of worms.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 6:30 pm I searched the entire Prop 3 verbiage for anything about parental consent being denied. It’s not there.
What it does say is EVERY individual has a right to reproductive freedom. It does not say every adult. It does not say everyone who is not a minor.
Neither you or I should be surprised when we see lawyers argue interpretations of "every individual" in court.
Re: Does the "Reproductive Freedom" amendment give rights to men?
The proposed amendment states "Every individual has a fundamental right to reproductive freedom, which entails the right to make and effectuate decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, including but not limited to ...., sterilization, ...."
I want to get somebody else sterilized. Can I use this amendment to do it?

I respectfully disagree with this line of thinking. This is like buying a house that's falling apart just because you like new garage they built.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 11:21 pm While not the biggest fan of Proposal 3 due to the open ended nature of it, the alternative is far too costly. The 1931 law needs to be struck down once and for all. We don’t need pro choice women prosecuted.
That's a good analogy of Prop 3. Nothing wrong with the headline. A woman's right to have an abortion.
But every TV spot opposing Prop 3 is correct. The ads I see are not talking about being opposed to abortion. They're talking about the unexpected consequences because Prop 3's language is sloppier than a St. Bernard's kiss.
Rest assure that if Prop 3 did get turned down, another version would be on the ballot in six months. Just like a millage. Just keep putting it up for a vote until it finally passes.
I say turn this one down. Let them get the message. Come back with a proposal the simply says every woman can have an abortion. K.I.S.S.
Like someone said earlier in this thread, there are lawyers itching to go to court to be the first to argue a guy don't have to pay child support if he wanted an abortion and she didn't. Does it not say everyone involved in the pregnancy has a say? Talk about a sloppy interpretation.

This perspective came totally out of nowhere. Never thought about this in those lines.
‘Ejaculate Responsibly’ author Gabrielle Blair wants to shift the focus of abortion conversations from women to men

At the end of the day, it's still the woman's choice to abort or not.

Re: Does the "Reproductive Freedom" amendment give rights to men?
Yes but if a minor walks in and ask for sterilization the parents wouldn't even be required to be notified. If the doctor ends harming the minor, there is no recourse the parent or state can take under proposal 3.Rate This wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 7:00 amThat would be pertaining to yourself not someone else.paul8539 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 4:38 am The proposed amendment states "Every individual has a fundamental right to reproductive freedom, which entails the right to make and effectuate decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, including but not limited to ...., sterilization, ...."

Of course, if the same minor walks in and wants to get their ears pierced, you have to show up with a parent, their state ID, and the minor's birth certificate.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

"Michigan:
- Written/notarized consent from parent or legal guardian for body piercing, PLUS must give consent in the presence of the piercer.
- For tattoos, parent/guardian must give written and informed consent at the tattoo shop".
A few other websites that listed every state's requirements said the same thing.
