Is the Party already over?

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Supposedly, 103.3 will be fed via 106.5 HD-2 moving forward.

Does FCC policy permit an AM translator on analog FM to be switched to an HD translator without commission approval?
I believe it depends upon how the license was issued. I would bet 94.1 was the "save AM" translator, and the 103.3 was a second one gotten thru different means. But don't trust me, I've been breaking the rules for years ...

So it looks like Catholic radio will move to 1520 and air on 94.1 and Party 103.3 will move to HD only?

It happened in Columbus recently when 920 WMNI went sports and the 95.1 translator was switched to 103.9 WJKR's HD2, switching from Easy 95.1 to Star 95.1 in the process.

?? This does not say that it would be only on HD2. 1520 WPAY would feed 94.1. 103.3 is expected to be fed by WTOD 106.5 HD-2. Under that, "The Party" would still be on 103.3.
My concern is... 106.5 doesn't seem to be in HD. No HD means no HD2. No HD2 means 103.3 should go off the air until the HD is on.

So.... Toledo is gaining a 2nd Catholic radio station? I guess the jet fighters will have another choice besides WNOC

I had a feeling WPAY would be going back to some sort of religious programing.

I do not see how the party will be on the hd2 from 106.5.

1. 106.5 is not in hd.
2. The translator is technically only legally allowed to
Rebroadcast the am. It’s like they are married.

The party is done.

1 - 106.5 soon WILL be in HD, possibly as early as Thursday.
2 - Wrong. 103.3 appears to have been first licensed in 2007, long before the AM on FM inititive, so it is NOT locked to 1520. It can be switched as the owner wishes. They've filed the change with the FCC.
Now, the big question is how long will Delmarva (licensee of WTOD 106.5) put up with the party format? It would not seem to be compatible with the main station's religion format.

Maybe. But, you forgot #3.

3. It's still the grubby fingernails station.

I just confirmed 106.5 WTOD is transmitting HD and Party 103.3 is on the HD2. Looks like the Party will continue.

And, yes, it will still be the grubby fingernails station.

But how long will the grubby fingernails station stay on the air? Will they raise enough money to pay the bills next month? Will Delmarva Educational Association take it away from them? Or Will Delmarva Educational Association just say we do not want someone on the air complaining about how he's banned from corporate radio on their air anymore?

Only the grubby fingernails no. Stay tuned.

1520 is off the air now, so the new owners must of taken over.

The new programming is scheduled to start Monday. 103.3 is still playing the Party format.
