Re: September Nielsen Monthly
If that is true, then why have any people on air at all? We should all be Jack FM.armchair pd wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 9:26 amThe PD is the first person to look to when a station tanks. Who else, the air talent that talks MAYBE 2 minutes an hour outside of morning drive? Ridiculous.
Salaries don't go up or down with ratings btw
Ratings aren't the only measure of success but I refuse to believe that DVD can lose hundreds of thousands of cume and two full ratings points in a couple of years yet has the ability to continue to pay its morning show staff (the largest of any Cumulus station in the market) record salaries.
3.4 is one of the best ratings DRQ has ever gotten. The PD is obviously doing something right there. Hard to imagine he can get that right (with four country stations in the market) while being absolutely clueless elsewhere.
Hot AC is a dying format, much like AOR in the late-00's. At least WRIF could lean on Guns n' Roses and AC/DC. Women 18-34 mostly listen to country. Even Taylor Swift tried to rebuild her ties to the genre and then released folksy Americana. Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves chose country over pop/CHR for a reason. DVD will look completely different by spring. Most of the on-air will be gone when it happens too.

Guess it's a good day at the Beasley compound.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 7:36 am Some demo rankings:

WKQI is definitely getting softer numbers than usual in key demos, but WNIC, WJLB and WMXD are all doing really well.
It's been a long time since I've seen WYCD earn top five honors in A25-54, A18-49 or A18-34, and they are absent from all three categories yet again.
WRIF, WXYT-F, WCSX and WMGC are all major ratings winners.
95.5 fucking sucks, anyway.
