Coolio got me into rap as well as most of my classmates. It is very sad. Gangsta's Paradise will always hold a special place in my heart.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

I liked Coolio, but he was only relevant for a few years.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

Must have been before my time. Never heard of him.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

He got his start before "talkies" we're introduced

Have to admit, I've never been much of a movie goer. Last movie I was at was about 30 years ago. My wife wanted to see Diving Miss Daisy. Don't recall if this Coolo was in it or not.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

"Driving Miss Daisy" movie was in late 1989 & Coolio was not in that movie.

Coolio was everywhere in 1995-96. While he did have a few hits, the one that jumped out at me when I heard he passed was "Too Hot". It was a cautionary song about the dangers about hooking up left and right and not being protected. It's a shame it got lost in the shuffle, coming out the same year Eazy-E lost his battle with HIV.
There were a number of great tracks on the Gangsta's Paradise album.

The thing I immediately think of is his quite public venomous reaction to Weird Al parodying Gangsters Paradise. He later said he was wrong to lash out the way he did and that he should have considered it an honor or something to that effect.

Coolio's remake of Lakeside 1982 song "Fantastic Vouage" (slide slide slip & slide) was big during "Woodstock '94" when MTV played that music video!!
