Sum 41 I can tolerate, Simple Plan is too whiney for me. Billy Talent I've never heard, or I have and just don't know it.

If you listened to 89X circa 2003-08, you heard this song.

I just want to throw in the other great Candian rock stations I heard living in Macomb County in my younger years. K106.3, 94.3 (which moved to 95.1 around 2002 or so), FM 96, all great stations that not only had great CanCon but also had much better playlists. One song I still celebrate is "Weightless" by See Spot Run. Great song.

You know what kinda turned me off of 100.7/95.1 the rock? The fact they were using the same V/O guy as 106.7 the drive.

What's weird is, in Sterling Heights, 94.3 was scratchy at best but 95.1 came in great. We had a lot less interference back then (No HD, less cell phones, less translators, not every frequency was jammed in a few miles away, etc). That was around the time I got one side of a phone call on 760. Weirdest shit ever.
Anyway, another good Billy Talent tune

This is still true. I can only get 94.3 if I am east of Hayes. At home, it’s not readable. 95.1/100.7 is better, but you have to strain to listen.

Nope. I don’t like much emo. “Black Parade” by MCR, “Move Along” by All American Rejects, and a few Panic songs is all I like. Even then, not my faves.

I am much more into trip hop, EDM, Moby(he is his own genre), and that sort of stuff.

2000-2002/03 was really when it became an issue. While I like Sum 41's first 4 albums, that was the time when we went from the first wave punk/pop punk bands losing relevance, the 2nd wave were having a hit here and there and the 3rd wave bands started popping up, to now having the more emo bands start out, like Taking Back Sunday, the Used, Brand New, etc. Mainstream rock really started taking a shit around then, also. It became a tough go. I used to have a new obsession every week to maybe having one a month. I do like some of those bands' first albums, but the luster wore off quickly.

Look at the boat we're in now.

I just turned on 98.7 while visiting family in Toledo and heard an uncensored “faggot” during Green Day’s “American Idiot”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard any iteration of that word uncensored on FM. Heh.

And they announced a new morning show and 10A-3P show will start tomorrow. Maybe Julia goes to one of those day parts?
