Step brother in law has been a cop for U of M DPS for a lengthy period of time. One day he’s working and has someone blow a red light right in front of him. Stops the female motorist who immediately cops an attitude and does the always pleasant “Do you know who I am?”. Given his sarcastic personality, he immediately states “Well, ma’am, your license states you’re XXX. I’m hoping that’s who you are.” Turns out it was a UofM regent. He tickets her anyway, she makes a complaint against him over his response which goes nowhere.

As a result of this, he recently told me that as part of their new rookie training, they have pictures of all the Regents in their station. All rookies must now memorize their pictures and be able to name them.

The thought of her serving on the same board as Ron Weiser (whom she called a "crook" in front of a state GOP convention crowd) is an unpleasant one.

She sounds like someone with some serious issues.

Why do our political parties nominate people for this position at their conventions? That seems like its ripe for folks like this to schmooze their way in and be completely nuts behind the scenes.

I did an image search to see what she looks like (hard to find a good photo of her). The results were rather... underwhelming. She's a bit below average... Actually several of the photos of her trying to smile posed with other people who can smile perfectly were frankly embarrassing. The H*** smile kind of screams "shady person here but please vote for me". Here she is posed with some upstanding citizens:
