Sorry, Fox 2: we're done
Between the unprofessional antics on the weekends and the dude on at 11 who cant be bothered to put a tie on half the time our family has switched to other stations. I'll still watch Deena on The Nine but after that the channel will get switched.
Thanks for the memories.

Yeah, the D'Angelo Barksdale look does seem out of place on a news set.dial-it-in wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:47 am .... the dude on at 11 who cant be bothered to put a tie on half the time ....

Dang, all the crazy shit going on in the world and on the news, and you are triggered by someone not wearing a tie?

This probably comes as a complete shock to you but there are actually people in the world that can witness and/or experience disparate things and formulate unique thoughts and opinions about each of them. All at the same time!Silvio Dante wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 10:00 am Dang, all the crazy shit going on in the world and on the news, and you are triggered by someone not wearing a tie?

2 has been unwatchable for years. Sadly 4 and 7 aren’t an improvement.
Re: Sorry, Fox 2: we're done
the hall of shame by rob wolcek is probably the only watchable thing on there.
Re: Sorry, Fox 2: we're done
I don't watch Fox2 for news in the mornings or the weekends. They do cover highlights though, but I'm not expecting any in-depth news segments. The 5 and 6 newscasts aren't any better or worse than those on 4 or 7, so I bounce around all three if catching the news in the evening.

Imagine caring this much about people reading a teleprompter

Not Fox2-specific, but if they were ONLY reading the teleprompter I might be able to watch some of them more. When they add in their own inflections, facial expressions and comments to a NEWS story it's very annoying. I don't want THEIR opinion of news and what THEY consider what's good and bad... just the NEWS, and try a represent both sides of an issue. If they want to comment later in a separate segment that's devoted to "on air personalities' opinions", that would be different, but I think they call that the Editorial segment.

The newer "news" companies and the ones that shoot for younger viewers are ditching "oldskool" looks. Jim Schutto looks allot better in business casual wear, and appears to be more welcoming.dial-it-in wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:47 am Between the unprofessional antics on the weekends and the dude on at 11 who cant be bothered to put a tie on half the time our family has switched to other stations. Keep this in mind- Consultants are obviously aware of missing ties and suits. It more than likely is not the anchor's choices. Maybe since Disney purchased one part of Murdoch's business, Fox Stations, still owned by Murdoch, might be trying a new tactic, to show conservative outlets don't have to be stuffy. Do you remember the black spandex dresses female Anchors wore? Same exact argument I had. They did not look professional either. Maybe now, it's the men's turn. It's about time too.

DJ's as news anchors. Shows how little they care about news. Remember when the news department thought a good story was about nasty Twitter comments about Governor Whitmer's blue dress that she wore to her first State of the State address? News director should have resigned.

FOX 2 is certainly not "conservative". I'd say they even go out of their way to show it. Perhaps thats the point you were making.TeddyBear wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 10:44 amThe newer "news" companies and the ones that shoot for younger viewers are ditching "oldskool" looks. Roop Raj tried it awhile back too. He came in and did the 5 or 6 o'clock news with his jacket and unbuttoned shirt for a couple days. Thank fully it didnt last.
From what I saw, I wont be seeing anymore to see if it holds true, the dude at 11am seemed to alternate from professional to club hopper.
