Notice all those "police apologists" aren't out rioting, burning and looting because they may disagree with the verdict.

Ah, another Being Pro Police thread to end the year, and perhaps the account.
Can't wait to see 'Mr. White Christmas'' acrid response to this.
He definitely needs to drink egg nog and eat some beef, and pass it to the missus...

Yup. The "police apologists" are out in full force on this...

According to ultra right wing conservative Alan Dershowitz. The jury’s conviction of Minnesota police officer Kim Potter for the death of Daunte Wright, coupled with the judge’s denial of bail pending her appeal, is a double injustice with dangerous implications for policing in America.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

I'm not anti-police, but involuntary manslaughter probably is appropriate in this instance.
I support a suspended sentence, however.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Kim Potter: guilty
I could be on board with involuntary manslaughter, but Keith Ellison the former leftist activist and DNC chair, chose to charge first-degree and second-degree manslaughter. That's a whole different ball game.audiophile wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 12:55 pm I'm not anti-police, but involuntary manslaughter probably is appropriate in this instance.

I do think she was overcharged but 12 jurors thought otherwise.

Re: Kim Potter: guilty
As far as I know they need grounds for an appeal. You can't just appeal a verdict you don't like.
What sort of grounds are they pressing or suggesting?

Read the Dershowitz column I linked to above. He lays out several reasons for appeal.craig11152 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:31 am As far as I know they need grounds for an appeal. You can't just appeal a verdict you don't like.
