Detroit Rock
Detroit rock is a subject that is fun to talk about. Although Bob Seger is from Ann Arbor he's close enough to be considered
part of the Detroit rock scene so I'll start with Bob. I still like some of his music especially the deeper cuts. Is anyone hearing
anything deeper on WRIF or the classic rock stations other than "Old Time Rock and Roll", "Hollywood Nights" and "Still The
Same"? With Ted Nugent is anybody hearing anything deeper than "Journey To The Center Of Your Mind" and "Cat Scratch
Fever"? With The Romantics is anybody hearing anything deeper than "What I Like About You" or "Talking In Your Sleep".
With Alice Cooper is anybody hearing anything deeper than "Eighteen" or "Schools Out". Is anybody hearing anything at
all by The MC5, Iggy Pop, and one of my Detroit favorites The Rockets? With all of the FM commercial stations in Detroit
having HD 2 and 3 stations perhaps an all Detroit rock station would be an interesting idea. As far as the Motown label
goes I think an all Motown HD 2 or 3 station could work since the HD 2 and 3 stations don't have to be competitive. Also
I'd be curious as to which regular HD 1 commercial FM stations play the most Motown. Detroit has musical heritage and
I think the radio there should have stations that don't forget Detroit's musical past.

WLLZ plays "Oh Well" by The Rockets on occasion.

Not just your mobile phone as it also appears that way on my iPad. It drives me absolutely crazy reading it…MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 5:21 pm Why do your posts always have out of place line breaks when viewing on my mobile phone?

I have a nice copy of No Ballads on LP if anyone wants to hear the Rockets any time they like.

Re: Detroit Rock
I'm keeping the other album for myself, though.
I bet if you called up either CSX for the noon request hour or WLLZ and asked for Turn Up the Radio as a deep track of the day, they would play it.

Actually, Turn Up the Radio sounds like incidental music on WKRP in Cincinnati.

Re: Detroit Rock
No, they would have no idea what you’re talking about and would play Autograph.
The Rockets version of Oh Well is far better than Fleetwood Mac.
Sally Can’t Dance isn’t even on a playlist.
While I’m ranting, when was the last time you heard anything off of On to Victory or Malice in Wonderland?
It’s like the music never existed.
I don’t get the current version of WLLZ out here in the sticks, but WMMQ is absolutely terrible nowadays. They should change their slogan to Lansing’s Crappish Rock.
They played their entire music library over the Labor Day weekend, I was totally shocked at what wasn’t there anymore, although we got to hear Lenny Kravitz (wtf).
2 songs followed by a 4 minute commercial break all day Monday, every break starting with a promo for the worst morning show in town.

An older Rockets tune, written by Bob Seger, "Gone Long Gone", always been a favorite from them for me, a tune you'll NEVER hear, even on Sirius/XM Deep Tracks

Re: Detroit Rock
I think 94.7 used to play it regularly 8-9 years ago.
Re: Detroit Rock
92.9 is far and away better than WMMQ, it took them a while to flesh out their music library, at first it was a two day rotation, but they keep adding. And, they play music in the morning, waddya know.
Free beer and wings sucks worse than Bob and Tom like a dollar general version.
I haven’t tried 103.9, but I’ll crank the beams over towards Flintonia and give it a listen.

Was unable to get a lock on Flint.
But, did run into BUZZ 102.5.
An old favorite. I was tuned in the rest of the weekend.

I heard that Ted Nugent has a new cd. Has anybody heard anything from it on active rock WRIF or any of the classic
rock stations either WCSX or WLLZ.
