A Quiet Day in the Neighbourhood.
A Quiet Day in the Neighbourhood.
I haven't heard a single Harley today. I love it. Every Friday 13th all the bikers in Ontario gather in the town of Port Dover, on the north shore of Lake Erie.
On top of having a full day of peace and tranquility, there is the added bonus that some of them, after a day of drunkenness in Port Dover, will end up as roadkill on the way home.
In the coming weeks, some of them may even succumb to the covid 19 they contracted at their event.

I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.

Try living in the country where every proud fathers son has learned to remove the mufflers from their pickup trucks.
That'll cure you of your sick thoughts toward Harleys and the working class folks riding them.

So, you live Lapeer County where the assholes want to drive 65 in a 45 zone? Idiots nearly ran me off the road when I was driving between Imlay City and the north side of Lapeer.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

All I can hear in my neighborhood are generators, thanks to a catastrophic DTE failure. We have been out of town since 8/3, and power has apparently been out since 8/11.

So, is everything in your fridge a loss?

We had 630K out(a new record) due to 60-70 mph winds widespread on Wednesday night as well as heavy lightning. DTE restored 400K by Friday night. They have been working 16 hour days for the last 4 days to get the remaining 230K back on line.

When we left Florida in 2019, I left 3 cans of beer behind to see how they would last over the summer. When we returned in the fall, I chilled the beer and it tasted no different than the fresh beer I had just bought.
When we left Florida abruptly in March of 2020, I left a few cans there. I can't recall how many. They've now been there over two summers. I'm curious to see what they'll be like.

The power has been back on. For 13 hours - full report on the beer tonight.

The beer seems to have lost a little something, but it is still drinkable.

A good friend of mine worked for the Air Force in the 60’s. He found himself stationed at a site along the DEW line. At the bottom of the mountain the tower was on, was a bay. You got in and out on a series of stairs all the way up the mountain. At the bottom of the stairs, at the bay, was a barge with supplies. Black Label from the Big War. It was all the beer they had. He said it was great!
