Ron Popeil, infomercial extraordinaire, who brought us such future garage-sale collectors' items as the Veg-O-Matic and Pocket Fisherman*, passed away this week @ 86.

The Pocket Fisherman was terrible.

Ronco's products had more than their fair share of jokes lobbed at them, and rightfully so; One of the more famous was the Bass-O-Matic '76 on SNL...

BTW - question to the previously-posed $400 answer was Who is TT?

But wait, there's more...

should go on his headstone.

His best scam was the spray on hair.

Not a bad gig. 350.00 is about 1400.00 in 2021 money.

Guess it started early in the morning and wound up late at night so I it was about a 12+ hour gig. He told me that everybody was non-union and if that wasn't the case, he would have made a fortune because he would have gotten paid every time it ran....and it ran A LOT!
