Toledo's Zone Moving to 94.5 HD-2 May 1st
Re: Toledo's Zone Moving to 94.5 HD-2 May 1st
As usual, Cumulus did nothing special during The Changing of the Guard. When 1470 dropped, it was simply, "WLQR, Toledo" and that are that was it, no national anthem no tribute from Bob Kelly or any of the other staff from the station, simply power off.

Why would they? In this case, it was just one satellite brand to another. Just like when 1470 went off the air, it was one satellite brand that hardly anyone listened to to dead air that nobody listened to.

106.5 is off the air now, my guess is they are waiting to get approved for new call letters and maybe there going to need to do some technical stuff as well. They might have to have the station blessed, due to all the heathen programing that's been airing it.

Yeah, in my car yesterday I could briefly hear a station on 106.5 playing a song by Chicago. Think that might have been the 106.5 from Kalamazoo

I get the same thing on my radio as well in Northwest Toledo. The 99.5 one is confusing because they both play Country.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 7:09 pm A handful of Cleveland area stations make it into Toledo at night and in the morning during warm weather quite regularly.
106.5 The Lake wreaks havoc with the Delta 106.5 quite often, especially on the east side of town.
Cleveland's WGAR often interferes with Detroit's WYCD during warm weather months in Monroe. Same thing also happens between WZAK and WDRQ.

Growing up in Toledo, I often heard 100.7 WMMS before that translator came into play. I also heard a scratchy 96.5 WAKS.
Now I live in in the western part of Greater Cleveland and I hear 101.5 the River quite well and will sometimes get a scratchy WIOT. I used to get WXKR until Radio One put a gospel translator on 94.5

Yeah, when I lived in the eastern part of metro Toledo, WMMS would sometimes interfere with the Toledo 100.7 during warm weather.

There’s one thing I can’t understand - why move this station to a HD channel? How many people actually have a HD radio? My 2014 Sierra has HD but my 2017 Impala and 2012 Camaro don’t. Do the Big 3 even make HD radios for their new vehicles anymore?

My father's 2020 Toyota, you have to upgrade to get HD radio.
