Via phone line gets a Blake Griffin line in
Re: Ron Cameron
Hopes to be back May 7, and guarantees that he will have "restaurant news" by then.
Re: Ron Cameron
How does this qualify as a major announcement?! Ron told us two weeks ago, on the first Friday in April, that he'd be off through April. If he's now saying he hopes to be back May 7, that's the first Friday in May.

Re: Ron Cameron
I agree Momo, this is no update, this is what was expected when he made the first big announcement. Ron has not changed in 40 years why change anything up now? Keep it going with same old song and dance. The hilarious thing is ratings went up h.u.g.e. today at WPON. Brilliant marketing by somebody over there. In the meantime, this is the worst time for R-Sizzle to take a siesta- "a lot to talk about folks" in the sports world. Who will be Ron's special guest for his "Re Grand Opening" show? Let's not go with the retreads of Ray Scott, this calls for Top Shelf talent to celebrate Ron's Immunity from the Corona. Get that phonebook from the maid Ron!

Re: Ron Cameron
On the Detroit Free Press website, a story link read "One of Detroit's radio stars is leaving the airwaves". Could this be the big announcement that Ron planned for today? But no, it turned out to be Vickie Thomas of WWJ.
Re: Ron Cameron
I can't believe it.Why would Ron risk tarnishing his legacy by returning. What does he have to prove.
Re: Ron Cameron
Apparently R-sizzle is trying to retain some of his ad revenue by posting a plug for the Fenton Hotel on his twitter feed.
"Tell 'em I sent ya."

One thing about Ron—he's never bored us to tears with a mock NFL draft, which is probably the most overused topic on 97.1 and other mainstream sports talk stations. I tuned in to 97.1 this morning to get some scores and "Stoney" was talking about his Mock Draft 3.0.
Re: Ron Cameron
Yeah, when you don’t have any creative talents you can always resort to a mock draft. It is three months of speculation that means squat. I’ve gotten to where I turn the radio off when the subject come up. I’d rather listen to silence.Bobbert wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 7:15 pmOne thing about Ron—he's never bored us to tears with a mock NFL draft, which is probably the most overused topic on 97.1 and other mainstream sports talk stations. Re: Ron Cameron
Let the countdown begin, only a week and some minutes to go before the airwaves and this particular forum come alive again with the return of R-Sizzle...all vaxxed-up, “Cova”-free, fed at Ram’s Horn, USA Today Sports Weekly under the arm, bottle of water next to the mike, down 5-8 pounds from the hotel/motel exercise program, er...probably more of the same. But I’ll be listening.
Re: Ron Cameron
Will Kurt even know about Ron’s return date? And what would the new & improved show be without Kurt’s heavy presence? Will Ron rely even more heavily on “Match Game” questions that he’s compiled during his hiatus? Will Ron dial back his 75-game win prediction for the Tigers - his standard, wildly off, prediction for the Bengals in the era of his boy Avila - in light of the fact that, to date, the ‘21 squad has - by far - the worst record in baseball? And will Ron deliver on his promise to “definitely” have a restaurant announcement upon his return? For the answers to these & other burning questions, stay tuned, R Sizzle World, we just have another week.
