Alice 106.7
Alice 106.7
I was thinking about this. I remember in the fall of 1999 I got the shock of my life, hearing something other then country music. I remember being in the car with a friend of mine, we were around Monroe MI and my friend was flipping through the dial.
It landed on 106.7, they were playing " Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin. I thought "No.. this can't be" , has to be another station interfering but no! At first I thought it was called "The Palace"(as in the palace of auburn hills), as the voice overs were kind of quick. Then I heard the top of the hour ID "WWWW Detroit".
Alice was a good idea but it wasn't executed very well IMO. The play list got stale pretty quick. At first it was, the songs I heard the most were:
Steven Stills- Love the one your with
Genesis- Invisible touch
Sugar Ray-Fly
Third eye blind- Semi Charmed life
Whitesnake-Here I got again
Foreigner- Head games
It took like 6 months for them to put together an air staff, I think the could of had something, but it seems they just put the station on without a plan in mind.

Re: Alice 106.7
Alice was Peter Connolly's idea, and the beginning of 106.7 being a cursed frequency.

The only good thing on Alice106.7 was Steve Black, the playlist was hit and miss .

They had a Sunday morning show, “Alice’s Restaurant”, which competed with WCSX’s “Sunday Mornings Over Easy” program. I enjoyed that. Well, I enjoyed both programs.
Re: Alice 106.7
What ever happened to him? He was on 102.7 I believe as well.
Re: Alice 106.7
Clear Channel should have let Steve program Alice106.7 and it probably would have lasted longer. Steve did a nice job programming 103.9 the Fox up in Flint a few yr ago. He knows music.
