100% wrong.
Hollywood actors are union. SAG-AFTRA. They’re not “middle class.”
Oh. And cartoon characters aren’t unionized. Neither are mermaids, Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy, etc.

He is absolutely middle class. Suburban home, two car garage, expendable income, aspirations (remember "Snow King"??).

I agree; the Simpsons are middle class. The wife gets to stay home with Maggie because Homer makes enough cheese to support the entire family. They've taken expensive vacations. And yes - Homer *is* in a union! There was an episode where the Springfield nuclear plant employees went on strike.

Canadian statistics show significant overlap in the income ranges of working class and middle class. I can fit into either one, so I choose to be working class.
Now. How about Archie Bunker?

Archie Bunker is middle class too.
You still haven't provided a solid definition of what you think "working class" is.

This isn’t Canada. In the U.S. everything is stratified.

In Canada, working class income is from $40,100 to $120,400. He'd have to cook a lot of fries to even hit tho bottom end of that range.
Now, how about Ralph Cramden? Bus driver.

In the US, Bidet is the dividing line. Are you above or below Bidet?

Here working class is below $40,000.. so Ralph (and myself for that matter) are around $50-60,000... Middle Class but on the lower end.

OK. I think I'm starting to get this. Ralph and Homer are working class. Archie Bunker and Fred Flintstone are middle class.
Just one more and It will be clear.
Ward Cleaver.

One might describe them as upper middle class. They were supposed to be a sort of example of life at the time as idealized by whoever wrote the show.
