Cool Site for SW Fans

Unread post by Calvert DeForest »

I happened across this site a couple of months ago, and have been having a lot of fun with it:

http://websdr.org/

It's a collection of streaming shotwave tuners from around the world. Most of the tuners accomodate multiple simultaneous users with unique tuning capability. You can switch between AM, CW, USB and LSB modes as well. Great for listening to both shortwave stations and hams. You can even log presets of your favorite frequencies for later reference. You can use the web tuners or an available app for Android (unfortunately none for iOS at this time). So far I've had a lot of fun with it.
Shortwave is the ORIGINAL satellite radio.

Looks interesting. But it will be a steep learning curve for me.

Too much RFI over here at my QTH to enjoy shortwave on my Drake radio these days. However, the radio still does awesome at DX'ing FM. I get 100.7 from Sarnia frequently.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

A lot of RFI here too. I haven't been able to track down the source.

Once a year I pack up my radio and some wire for an antenna and head out to a quiet place in the country for a few hours of clear listening,
I call it my mini DXpedition. I've been doing it for about 20 years now.
